Who Can Enroll During
Georgia Open Enrollment?
You generally do not need a qualifying life event to enroll during Open Enrollment.
Georgia residents may use this opportunity to:
-
Enroll in individual or family health coverage
-
Replace a plan that will not continue in 2027
-
Renew existing Marketplace coverage
-
Change insurance companies or plan levels
-
Add eligible household members
-
Update projected income and household information
-
Review eligibility for financial assistance
Marketplace plans are intended primarily for people who do not have access to Medicare or another qualifying source of coverage. Eligibility is determined from the information provided in the application.
Georgia Uses Georgia Access
-
Georgia operates its own health insurance Marketplace, known as Georgia Access.
-
Georgia residents no longer enroll through HealthCare.gov. However, eligible consumers can work with certified agents and approved enrollment partners to compare and complete Georgia Marketplace enrollment.
-
Aura Insure provides an online enrollment experience that allows eligible Georgia consumers to review available coverage without a mandatory sales call.
Aura Insure is a private licensed insurance agency and is not Georgia Access or a government agency.
Why You Should Review Your Coverage for 2027
Even if you already have health insurance, do not assume your current plan will remain your best option.
-
Insurance companies can change:
-
Monthly premiums
-
Deductibles
-
Copayments and coinsurance
-
Maximum out-of-pocket limits
-
Provider networks
-
Covered hospitals
-
Prescription formularies
-
Drug tiers
-
Referral requirements
-
Service areas
Your financial-assistance eligibility may also change when your projected household income or household information changes.
Review the exact 2027 plan before allowing existing coverage to renew.
Could You Qualify for Financial Assistance?
Some Georgia households may qualify for an advance premium tax credit that reduces the monthly premium.
Eligibility depends on factors including:
-
Projected annual household income
-
Household size
-
Tax-filing information
-
Access to qualifying employer coverage
-
Eligibility for other government coverage
-
Current federal and Georgia Marketplace rules
Some applicants may also qualify for cost-sharing reductions that lower certain deductibles, copayments and other out-of-pocket costs. To receive cost-sharing reductions, an eligible applicant must select an eligible Silver plan.
No premium, savings amount or eligibility result is guaranteed.
