The Affordable Care Act (ACA), enacted in March 2010, aims to make healthcare more accessible and affordable. Here are its three primary goals:

1. Making Affordable Health Insurance Available

The ACA offers subsidies, known as premium tax credits, to reduce health insurance costs for households with incomes between 100% and 400% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). If your income is above 400% FPL, you may still qualify for these credits. Those with incomes at or below 150% FPL may also be eligible for a Special Enrollment Period to enroll in or change their Marketplace coverage.

2. Expanding Medicaid Coverage

The ACA expands Medicaid to include all adults with incomes below 138% of the FPL. However, not all states have expanded their Medicaid programs, so coverage varies depending on where you live.

3. Innovative Health Care Delivery

The law promotes innovative healthcare delivery methods aimed at reducing the overall cost of care.

Let Aura Insure guide you through your health insurance options under the ACA!
