When can I enroll in a plan, and do I qualify for a special enrollment period?

Most people can sign up for health insurance during the open enrollment period, which begins each November. If you miss that window, you may still qualify for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) if you’ve had a big life change—like getting married, having a baby, or losing other health coverage. An SEP lets you enroll outside of open enrollment. Check your situation to see if you qualify.
